2025 Tesla Model Y Prices Drop in Australia as New Models Arrive

Tesla's redesigned electric SUV has become even more affordable, with the Long Range reaching a new all-time low and the introduction of non-special-edition variations.
Prices for the 2025 Tesla Model Y have been dropped by $4500 with the introduction of ordinary, non-special edition models of the facelifted 'Juniper' lineup.
The revised Model Y was launched in January 2025 in limited-run Launch Series trim, which included premium paint, better wheels, increased performance on the all-wheel-drive grade, and a few other extras.
As promised, Tesla has now introduced ordinary variants at cheaper prices: $58,900 plus on-road charges for the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and $68,900 plus on-roads for the Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
Both costs are $4500 less than the Launch Series equivalents. The new regular RWD costs $3000 more than its pre-facelift predecessor, while the Long Range is $1000 less, a record low for the version.
Standard version deliveries are scheduled to begin in June, after the Launch Series' arrival a month earlier.
As previously reported, the revamped Model Y features refreshed front and rear looks, new wheels, a redesigned interior with a larger 15.4-inch screen, new heated and ventilated seats, and more.
The driving range in European WLTP lab testing has increased to 466km for RWD and 551km for Long Range AWD, up 11km and 18km, respectively.
The RWD can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, down from 6.9 seconds in the 2024 model, regardless of whether the customer selects the Launch Series edition.
The Long Range AWD Launch Series included an Acceleration Boost option as standard, reducing 0-100km/h acceleration to 4.3 seconds - compared to 4.8 seconds in the non-Launch Series variant and 5.0 seconds in the 2024 Model Y without the boost.
It is due to enhanced aerodynamics and new low-rolling-resistance tires, as well as a slightly larger battery for the RWD, which is now estimated to have a capacity of 62.5kWh, up from 60kWh due to a higher amp-hour rating (180Ah vs. 173Ah).
Tesla promises a gentler ride over bumps thanks to updated suspension and less noise within the cabin.
The Launch Series includes superior paint, wider 20-inch wheels, a distinctive logo on the tailgate, branded door sill plates, puddle light projection, and ' vegan' suede dashboard accents instead of ordinary cloth.
Premium paint colors are now offered, priced between $2300 and $2600, while the improved 'Helix 2.0' wheels cost an additional $2400.
It means that a new Model Y Long Range equipped with the most costly paint color (Quicksilver or Ultra Red, $2600), 20-inch wheels, and the Acceleration Boost (estimated to cost $3000) will cost $3500 more than an equal Launch Series.
