Princess Anne Unveils First Hairstyle Change in Years
Great Britain's hardest-working royal made an unexpected statement this week by presenting a new hairstyle that had been in the works for decades.  Princess Anne has worn a '60s-inspired bouffant updo to the bulk of her public engagements for as long as most royal fans can recall; however, on Tuesday, she came out for the French state banquet with her hair fashioned in a low chignon.  It was a modest yet unexpected development for the Princess.

The French State Banquet was well-attended and widely covered.  As usual, Princess Anne was accompanied by her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, her brother, King Charles, and his wife, Queen Camilla.  Prince William and Kate Middleton also appeared.  The gala marked a significant milestone for the Princess of Wales, who has not attended a state supper or worn a tiara since her cancer diagnosis in 2024.

The French state visit is also the first to take place at Windsor Castle since 2014, when Ireland's President Michael D. Higgins and his wife paid a visit to the United Kingdom during Queen Elizabeth's reign.

What about Middleton's preferred topper? Royals enthusiasts may remember it as Queen Mary's Lovers' Knot Tiara, which was a favorite of both the Princess and her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
