Lynx Introduces 2026 Lineup with Renewed Commander and Shredder Models Plus Expansion of Key Features

VALCOURT, Quebec, February 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ - Lynx, BRP Inc.'s (TSX: DOO) (NASDAQ: DOOO) legendary brand, unveiled their 2026 snowmobiles, emphasizing some key upgrades and the company's continuous commitment to expanding the brand's global footprint. The Commander, Europe's most popular model, has been totally rebuilt for 2026 using the Radien² platform and will now be offered in North America. The Shredder receives significant changes to nearly every chassis component, raising the bar in deep snow riding, while the rest of the line benefits from substantial upgrades and feature extension, as well as an emphasis on entry-level with the Core Package.
"With the 2026 Lynx models, you'll see evidence of our dedication to bringing both new, innovative ideas and our constant improvement strategy - which has led to market leadership in Scandinavia and is now taking hold in North America," stated Hannu Härkönen, Lynx Snowmobiles' Global Product Manager. "From big things like redesigning Commander and Shredder models to smaller ones that solve irritants like the flippable snow flap, we make sure to bring the best performance in all aspects to the market."
The Commander RE features the latest Radien² chassis, LED lighting, modern style, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with Group Ride capabilities in North America without a phone or network connection. A 4-piston brake system, new arched A-Arms, heated seat, and a flippable snow flap that keeps out of the way when reversing are among the additional new components that enhance the 'go anywhere performance'. The top crossover sled in Europe is ready to show North Americans what they have been missing.
Shredder models will enter 2026 with numerous improvements aimed at increasing deep snow capability using the renowned 'Built Tough' Lynx DNA. The chassis receives a shorter tapered tunnel, shorter heat exchangers, and higher, reshaped running boards, all of which contribute to reduced weight. The redesigned PPS³-DS rear suspension features a new rail profile and geometry for improved sidehilling characteristics. In contrast, lighter and narrower Blade DSS skis, updated LFS-DS front suspension, and Twin Link steering provide riders with increased control in all scenarios. Despite these considerable upgrades, riders can still expect premium equipment like the best Kashima Coated KYB shock packages available on Lynx Shredder RE and DS variants.
Toughness, durability, and performance are at the heart of every Lynx snowmobile. Lynx's Core package features high-quality KYB shocks, coil-over springs that last longer and weigh less, backup rewind starters, and fuel-efficient Rotax engines. The performance characteristics, such as famed suspension designs and ergonomics for vigorous riding, are all present, so labeling this ' standard' does not apply. For 2026, this package is now available on all Lynx models with the same Sisu spirit at a reasonable cost.
In North America, every model with a 10.25-inch Touchscreen Display now includes Group Ride capabilities, taking the connected experience to the next level. Riders may track their pals without a cell phone or a network connection, view embedded topographical maps and snowmobile tracks, and use breadcrumb tracking to find their way home. Using the BRP GO! app provides an even deeper experience and additional functions, such as turn-by-turn navigation.
The 2026 Lynx lineup includes essential modifications such as the Brutal RE shifting to the Radien² chassis with powerful LED lights, new aggressive deep snow style running boards for additional traction, and a 4-piston brake system for extra stopping power. The Rave RE features a redesigned LFS-R front suspension, providing more capacity and stability and boosting confidence. It also comes in black and has the option of the Rotax 850 E-TEC Turbo R, which produces 180 horsepower. Finally, the Xterrain expands its possibilities with the addition of a Limited package for added comfort, a 10.25-inch Touchscreen Display, a passenger kit, and Rotax 600R E-TEC and 900 ACE Turbo engine choices.
