Fatal crash near Southampton claims the life of M27 lorry driver

Following a collision on the M27 close to Southampton Airport, a truck driver has died and three others have been taken into custody.
A Mercedes truck, a Nissan Juke, and a Volkswagen Polo were involved in the collision, which occurred on Wednesday just after 12:30 GMT close to junction five.
The truck driver, a guy in his 30s, passed away at the scene, according to Hampshire Police.
Between Fareham at junction nine and junction five, the highway is still closed to westbound traffic. At junction nine, traffic is being rerouted onto the A27.According to National Highways, the closure might stand for the rest of Thursday until urgent repairs are made.
After the incident on Wednesday afternoon, traffic on the motorways was completely stopped.
The truck caught fire "several hours" after the collision, according to the police, and a gantry sustained damage.
A 40-year-old lady and two men, ages 32 and 37, have been taken into custody on suspicion of killing someone by reckless driving.After the collision, the westbound carriageway of the motorway was closed between Fareham at junction nine and junction five.
Three unattached individuals are still being treated at the hospital, according to the police, while the woman inside the Nissan only had minor wounds.
Police urged anyone with dashcam footage or who saw the collision to contact them.
