Digital Winglets Deployed on Porter’s Embraer E195-E2

Porter Airlines and APiJET, the developer of Digital Winglets, a leading technology for optimizing flight paths, have announced that Digital Winglets will be implemented in Porter Airlines' North American fleet of Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
Digital Winglets is a flight path optimization (FPO) solution developed from NASA's Traffic Aware Strategic Aircrew Request (TASAR) technology.
By integrating NASA's TASAR with APiJET's unique algorithms, mapping technologies, and real-time aircraft state data solutions, global air carriers can make optimized route-specific flight decisions that conserve fuel, enhance schedule reliability and on-time performance, and reduce carbon emissions.
Porter Airlines boasts the largest fleet of Embraer E195-E2 aircraft globally, and the introduction of Digital Winglets will enable them to achieve fuel savings of two to three percent and reduce flight times by one to two minutes per optimized journey, while minimizing network delays.
“Digital Winglets offers a robust set of tools that help us enhance flights in real-time for the most fuel-efficient routes, which boosts our on-time performance and contributes to the superior passenger experience for which Porter is recognized,” stated Kent Woodside, the executive vice president and COO of Porter Airlines.
“Adopting new technologies across a fleet can often be a lengthy and costly process. However, the installation of Digital Winglets was straightforward, and APiJET provided dedicated, hands-on assistance throughout the entire procedure.”
Our continuous fleet expansion guarantees that every new aircraft is quickly integrated into the platform without delay.
"By utilizing Digital Winglets, Porter can enhance fuel efficiency and decrease enroute times, which will lead to better schedule reliability while also lowering emissions." Porter has an ambitious vision for growth, and we are excited to partner with them in achieving their goals for customer experience and operational efficiency," commented Rob Green, CEO of APiJET.
Digital Winglets incorporates a distinctive combination of online and ground-based technologies, enabling Porter to easily and rapidly adopt it into their fleet of 46 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, requiring no installation of additional hardware or software.
