Fiji, Celebrated Reggae Artist, Dies at Age 55

George Veikoso, a popular reggae singer known as Fiji, died at the age of 55.

Sources close to Fiji's family announced his death on July 23, 2025.  The circumstances surrounding his death have not been revealed.

The Fijian singer has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including a Grammy nomination for the collaboration album "Island Warriors" and the Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Male Vocalist of the Year and Favorite Entertainer of the Year in 1998.

Fiji's notable contributions to the Polynesian reggae scene have left a lasting impression on Hawaiian culture.
