Jeremy Piven Talks Performing and His Passion for Stand-Up Comedy

Jeremy Piven, a widely recognized figure, will be making his debut in New Zealand.
The actor and comedian is best known for his performances as Harry Selfridge and Ari Gold, roles for which he has received a Golden Globe and three consecutive Emmys.
However, it is not his work in film or television that brings him to this location; rather, Piven is taking the stage for his stand-up comedy tour.
Having been involved in performance from a young age, with both of his parents being actors in their own rights, he essentially grew up in a theatrical environment.
"I've been misinterpreting some of the greatest writers in history; I've been doing that since I was eightPiven has been involved in performance since he was young, as both of his parents are actors and he essentially grew up in a theatre environment.
"I've been mishandling some of the greatest writers ever since I was eight," he remarked.
Piven's entry into stand-up comedy was motivated by a need to find equilibrium, expand, and enhance his acting skills.
"I make that switch and get up there to do my act, and then return to acting, which improves my performance," he explained to Hosking.
"Many actors are inactive and tend to accumulate rust... with stand-up, I'm constantly performing."
"There’s no rust on me."."
