Coronation Street’s Sally Carman Drops Two-Word ‘Clue’ as Abi and Carl Webster Get ‘Rumbled’
  • The Abi Webster actress revealed that there's one Weatherfield citizen who might threaten to expose everything.

Coronation St.  Sally Carman offered a two-word clue as Abi and Carl Webster threatened to disclose their affair.

The actress made her Coronation Street debut as Abi Webster in 2017 and has addressed some horrific stories, such as her previous drug use and the murder of her eldest son, Seb.

Abi had strong recollections of Seb covered in blood from the attack.  Her visions became more intense after she witnessed Mason Radcliffe's stabbing.
In recent episodes, Abi struggled to cope after her husband, Kevin Webster, was diagnosed with prostate cancer and required chemotherapy following his surgery.

Viewers watched as she attempted to ignore the connection with Kevin's brother Carl Webster, who had moved into Weatherfield earlier this year.

However, when it was proven that Kevin lied when he told her that he still had cancer after receiving the all-clear, Abi quickly fell into Carl's arms. Since then, they've been keeping their intense love a secret from Kevin.

Sally appeared on This Morning alongside soap expert Sharon Marshall, where she spoke with presenters Emma Willis and Andi Peters about the recent twist. 


She quipped, "I'm exhausted!" about her year on the soap thus far, and when asked if she knew about the storyline ahead of time, Sally added, "You kind of get dribs and drabs, you can ask, but I'd prefer not because I don't know when to stop talking.  The less I know, the better."


Reflecting on her part as Abi Webster, the actress admitted, "She's brilliant because when you're an actor you want to hit all those spots [...] and with Abi everything goes..."  It's been fantastic; she's a great character, and I adore her." 


As Sharon inquired as to why Abi is in self-destruct mode after finally settling into a lovely family, Sally responded: "She has the biggest heart in the world, but it's a very immature heart.


"She does it all the time..."  She's also an addict, and there's that allure of an adrenaline rush...  She understands she shouldn't; it's too much for her.


She emphasized: "Whatever she does, it's 100%, whether it's good or bad."  Sally then revealed that Abi believes her and Carl are "genuine" and wants to believe him when he says they'll be a family.



The actress then disclosed that fans are upset with her, saying, "You cannot mess with Kevin Webster" before adding, "I'm team Kev!" 


As Carl and Abi are close to getting exposed and the truth rumbled, Sally was asked if she could give any clue as to how they might get found out.
