Ben Shephard concludes hosting Good Morning Britain, transitioning to This Morning in his latest career move

Shephard, who has hosted ITV shows for decades, co-hosted his final GMB show with Kate Garraway.
Before leaving to take on a new role co-hosting This Morning with Cat Deeley, Ben Shephard aired his last episode of Good Morning Britain.
Alongside Kate Garraway, with whom he has presented ITV shows for decades, he hosted his final programme.
Shephard recalled some "amazing memories" from his time spent working on the show.
He continued by calling it "a real privilege" to have covered important news stories for the programme, like the King's Coronation and Queen Elizabeth II's death.
"But mostly," he stated to his coworkers, "the things that stand out are the people, working with you guys, the guests that we have come in."
Shephard was joined on the sofa by fellow GMB hosts Susanna Reid, Charlotte Hawkins, Richard Arnold, Andi Peters, Sean Fletcher, and others in bidding him farewell.
In addition to letters from fans, his farewell show included tributes from Chris Kamara, Lorraine Kelly, and Martin Lewis.
Fisherman's Friends, a folk music group, also gave a song honouring Shephard.
"Not travelling very far"
"I'm going to get a lie-in... the alarm going off has never been something I enjoyed," the host said, alluding to his later start time as This Morning's host.
"But what I have known," he said, "is as soon as I get in I'm going to be surrounded by you brilliant, incredible, gorgeous, talented, challenging, chaotic, annoying, fabulous people who make me better at what I do."
"It's not lost on me that I wouldn't be able to do it if you lot weren't amazing and hadn't been such brilliant friends and colleagues."
"It's not just us, we simply get to do the spectacular bit, when it goes right," he continued. "I want to thank everyone who works behind the scenes, as well as the viewers, for putting their trust in me to wake them up in the morning.
Next month, Shephard and Deeley will return to This Morning, taking over for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, who departed the programme last year.
Monday through Thursday, the two will host the programme; on Fridays, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary will still present.
On September 5, 2023, in London, England, Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins attend the National Television Awards 2023 at The O2 Arena.
Shephard's final Good Morning Britain show featured tributes from several of his ITV coworkers, including Charlotte Hawkins.
Though he described his transfer to host This Morning as a "exciting opportunity," Shephard said, "I'm really, really not going far because it's literally the other side of the wall."
Additionally, he praised the audience for their "amazing messages" of support following last week's announcement of the news.
Shephard's coworker Kamara, a former football player, remarked that working with him on the ITV game programme Ninja Warrior UK would "never be the same again" and referred to him as "one of the nicest fellas" on Thursdays and Fridays.
"Without your help and patience I couldn't have gotten through the podcast that we did together last year," he stated.
Along with former football manager Harry Redknapp, Shephard's former GMTV colleagues John Stapleton and Fiona Phillips also contributed messages to the show.
The wife of This Morning editor Martin Frizell, Phillips replied, "Ben, just wishing you all the very best for your new job." "So excited for you."
Stapleton went on to say: "It's 24 years since you walked into that GMTV newsroom and I remember several people saying to me, 'watch that lad, he'll go far'."
Before joining GMB at the start in 2014, Shephard, 49, occasionally filled in for Schofield on This Morning.
Ever since, he has co-hosted with Garraway, Hawkins, and Susanna Reid on a regular basis. Following Piers Morgan's departure from the show in 2021, he started hosting additional episodes.
