What Makes "Danse Macabre" Special in Terms of Collaborations & Features
The cover art for Duran Duran's album Danse MacabreThere are several different collaborations and unexpected appearances on the record. Måneskin's Victoria De Angelis joins the group for a cover of Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer," which serves as the album's centerpiece track. The end product is a dazzling fusion of catchy vocal harmonies, addictive grooves, neon keys, and fashionable drumming.

John Taylor, the bassist for Duran Duran, explained the motivation behind this partnership: "When I asked Vic who her bass inspirations were, she immediately said, 'Tina Weymouth!'" Saying, "Me too," My first instinct upon hearing about covering "Psycho Killer" was, "I'm going to call Vic." Of course, she thought the idea was fantastic!

Evidence of the band's vitality and friendship, Duran Duran welcomed back former members Andy Taylor and Warren Cuccurullo on Danse Macabre. Nile Rodgers and producers Mr. Hudson and Josh Blair are also featured on the album.

The music for your Halloween party

Désire Macabre is not your average Duran Duran album; it's the soundtrack to the ultimate Halloween bash, derived from a unique live performance the band recorded in Las Vegas on October 31st of the year prior. The album's thirteen tracks are Halloween-themed renditions of well-known songs, including Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black," Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer," and Billie Eilish's "Bury A Friend."

The band's unwavering love for Halloween and the darker side of creation is celebrated in this one-of-a-kind collection. The band's ability to experiment with many genres and produce an album that defies expectations is on full display in Danse Macabre. The lead single, praised as a "gothic delight of synthesized riches," has been compared to no other Duran Duran song.

Even previously unreleased versions of beloved songs like "Nightboat" and "Secret Oktober 31st," which features Andy Taylor on guitar, are included on the album. The song "Secret Oktober 31st" was first included on Duran Duran's debut studio album, Danse Macabre, forty years ago when it was issued as a B-side to the 7-inch single "Union of The Snake."
