Actress Christina Applegate Shares How MS Diagnosis Has Impacted Her Family

Christina Applegate's MS diagnosis has caused rippling effects throughout her family.
The "Married with Children" star revealed that her illness has "broken" her 14-year-old daughter, Sadie.
"In my situation, Sadie only knew me as a healthy, runner, Pelotoner, and dancer, and she only knew that," Applegate stated on her "MeSy" podcast with co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler. "So then, when this came about, 2021, she was, like, stoic about it."
She went on, "And now, I see her look at me when I'm in bed and can't quite move, or I want to go say goodnight to her in her room, but I can't quite get down the hallway for whatever reason, my legs aren't working that day." Right now, I can hardly go to the toilet; it's the worst, but that's not the point. "It's broken her."
The 53-year-old went on to say that the damage has worsened with time.
"She didn't know this. It was as if she had lost her mother to this f---ing creature. And as she's gotten older, I believe it's affecting her more," added Applegate. "Also, I was diagnosed in 2021, so we had just gone through COVID and no school and everything that, and now mama couldn't do all of the things she used to be able to do, and I can see it in her eyes. "I see it.
However, Applegate stated that her daughter is always trying to help her as much as she can.
When we're out, she knows I'm having trouble since I'm so nervous about being out. "And she's always holding my arm," she remarked. "She's always trying to assist me with my cane and all that. At home, she says, 'Can you kindly go down and cook my supper because you're the only one who can do it?'
"She says, 'You're going down all the steps.'" And I said, 'Sadie, I can't make it down the f---ing steps.' But I do. I do it because I know she is checking in to see whether she can still take care of me.
Since being diagnosed with MS in 2021, Applegate has freely discussed her physical and emotional problems.
The star of "Dead to Me" was also recently hospitalised for a kidney ailment.
