Tesla Model Y Performance and 7-Seater Versions Arriving Soon

The subsequent Tesla Model Y of 2025, known as the Juniper project, is already available in the UK, but only in the Launch Edition Long Range All-Wheel Drive form, which starts at £60,990, or on a 24- to 48-month PCP lease. However, the range will be extended.

A performance version, as well as a 7-seater version, will be available later this year. Lars Moravy and Franz von Holzhausen, executives at Tesla, made the announcement.

Tesla's performance versions are recognized for their increased performance, and the new Model Y Performance was first discussed a few months ago when several cars were sighted while testing on public roads.

The Tesla Model 3 Performance

In terms of performance, the Model 3's "heart" is the Performance 4DU power unit, which provides acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 163 mph. This is the most powerful version in the lineup, with a combined output of 460 PS from two electric motors, one per axle.

In addition to the Highland project's noise, vibration, and comfort enhancements, this version has adaptive suspension, which is a first for the Model 3. This suspension, which includes hollow pistons, new anti-roll bars, and high-strength steel springs, is controlled by Tesla-developed software that can be updated remotely.

The adaptive setup has three modes: Standard, which provides maximum comfort; Sport, which stiffens the suspension and directs the steering; and Track, which is geared for track use and includes unique settings to maximize performance.

Despite the increased performance, efficiency has been improved with a 2% reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous generation, resulting in a claimed range of 329 miles and a consumption of 16.7 kWh/100 km (3.7 miles/kWh).
