A new Tesla showroom is set to open at 312 E. Nine Mile Road in Pensacola, entering the luxury brand market there.
According to the Escambia County development order, the dealership will be a retail sales and servicing center, providing Tesla consumers with a one-stop shop. Pensacola has a Tesla Service Center located at 175B E. Olive Road.
The dealership is almost ready to open, and its new location at the crossroads of East Nine Mile Road and Music Lane is already marked with signs. The facility is next to Ollie's and in the same plaza as an Aldi, which is being converted from a Winn-Dixie.
Last March, Escambia County's Development Review Committee (DRC) approved a development order for the building, which has around 45,461 square feet, to be turned into a Tesla dealership following a project proposal by a group of out-of-town developers.
NC Pensacola, LLC, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, owns the dealership development project, which was filed with the county by Drake Motor Partners Pensacola, LLC, based in Denver, Colorado.
The News Journal contacted NC Pensacola for comment, but they have yet to answer.
An on-site worker informed the News Journal that they expect the dealership to open by the end of March because they are finishing up the building, but no official date is available at the moment.
According to county documents, NC Pensacola paid $4.5 million in September for the site where the dealership will be located.
