Anurag Kashyap Criticizes AI Film Chiranjeevi Hanuman Producer: "You Should Be in the Gutter"
Following the announcement of the AI-generated movie Chiranjeevi Hanuman, Anurag Kashyap wrote a letter criticizing Vijay Subramaniam, the film's producer.

Abundantia Entertainment and Collective Media Network's Historyverse revealed Chianjeevi Hanuman—The Eternal, an AI-generated movie based on Lord Hanuman's legend, on Tuesday. The movie was billed as "Made-in-India" and "Made-in-AI," and Hanuman Jayanti 2026 was listed as the release date. One of the movie's producers, Vijay Subramaniam, came under fire from Anurag Kashyap for supporting an AI-generated movie while running an artists' agency.

Anurag Kashyap criticizes the maker of the AI movie

Vijay's name was highlighted in a screen image of the announcement poster that Anurag shared on Tuesday night. For leading the Collective Artists Network and continuing to support an AI-generated movie, he criticized him. He wrote: "@vijaysubramaniam84, congratulations. This man is in charge of the @lifeatcollectiveartistsnetwork, which represents writers, directors, and artists. He is currently the producer of an AI-produced movie. What a waste of time it is to protect and advocate for the interests of creators.

He continued by asserting that agencies are just motivated by profit, saying, "At the end of the day, all these agencies are only interested in making money off you, and since they choose turkeys after turkeys for you and you're not making enough for them, they are going all AI." He has shown that he believes you are no match for his AI performance; thus, any actor or person who calls themselves an artist and has a backbone will be and should be questioning him or quitting the agency.

This is the future for the "spineless" in the Hindi film industry, Anurag snarled, saying that Vijay should be "in the gutter." He concluded the letter by saying, "This is the future for the cowardly and flinching so-called artists in the Hindi film industry." Vijay Subramaniam, good job. You are not sufficiently ashamed. You belong in the gutter.
Following the announcement of the movie on his Instagram stories, Vikramaditya Motwane commented, "And so it begins…" Who needs directors and writers when it's "Made in AI"?
