Honda Shine 100 DX Debuts in India, Takes on Hero Splendor

Honda Motorbike & Scooter India has increased its entry-level motorbike lineup in the Indian market with the introduction of the new Honda Shine 100 DX. The bike's prices were revealed around August 1, and it competes in a high-demand category among daily commuters. It is positioned below the Livo in the brand's range and will compete in India with models such as the Hero Splendor, Bajaj Platina 100, and others. Here, we'll examine the details of the new bike.
Starting with the design, it has a familiar look but incorporates new components. Like other commuter bikes, the Honda Shine 100 DX features a prominent headlamp with chrome decorations surrounding a plastic body. There is also a thin gasoline tank with a capacity of 10 litres that works nicely with the single-piece seat to complete the bike. All of this is supplemented by four paint scheme possibilities from the brand: Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Geny Gray Metallic.
To complement the design, the firm is including a fully digital LCD instrument cluster on the machine. It provides access to all relevant information, including real-time mileage, distance to empty, and more. It also has a turning radius of 1.9 m. The bike has telescopic front suspension and dual shock absorbers at the back. Meanwhile, drum brakes on both ends handle the braking responsibilities. Along with this, the bike now has tubeless tires on both ends.
The Honda Shine 100 DX is built on a diamond-type frame and powered by a 98.98 cc single-cylinder engine that produces 7 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 8.04 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. It is used in conjunction with a four-speed transmission using a multiplate wet clutch. It provides two options: self-start and kick-start.
