BJP MP Tejasvi Surya marries singer and dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad in Bengaluru.

Tejasvi Surya, a BJP MP from Bengaluru South, married Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad in a modest, traditional ceremony in Bengaluru on March 6, 2025.

Several BJP officials and ministers attended the two-time parliamentarian's wedding and posted photos with the newlywed pair on social media.

Union Ministers of State (MoS) V. Sommanna and Arjun Ram Meghwal were among those in attendance, as were MPs P.C. Mohan and Shobha Karandlaje, State BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra, BJP leader Pratap Simha, BJP National General Secretary B.L. Santosh, Public TV editor Ranganath, and historian and author Vikram Sampath.

Who is Sivasri Skandaprasad?

Sivasri came from a musically wealthy family; her grandpa was Carnatic vocalist Seerkazhi Jayaraman, and her father was mridangam vidwan Skandaprasad.

Sivasri is well-known among aficionados of religious and classical music. Still, she debuted in film music with 'Vanathi's Message,' a song from AR Rahman's Ponniyin Selvan original score.

Sivasri earned a Bachelor's in Bioengineering from Sastra University, an MA in Bharatanatyam from Chennai University, and an MA in Sanskrit from Chennai Sanskrit College.
