Eric Garcia Praises Barcelona's ‘Incredible Mentality' in Champions League Win Over Benfica

Eric Garcia scored from the bench in Barcelona's dramatic 5-4 Champions League victory over Benfica on Tuesday.

The dynamic star made it 4-4 before Raphinha scored a late victory in stoppage time for Hansi Flick's side.

Eric lauded his team's resilience and grit in coming back from behind in Portugal to win three points. 

"Benfica is a hazardous team; they have caused significant damage to us. It is a tremendous triumph, and we are overjoyed. "The team never lost face in the game," he told Movistar.

"To start losing in the second minute... it disrupts the strategy. The team has demonstrated an exceptional mentality. Atlético suffered a loss here. They have already shown their abilities. 

Eric also discussed his future at Barcelona. He's been linked with a move to Girona or Como, but he appears to be focused only on forcing his way into Flick's thoughts. 

"I believe all players want to feel important. "My job is to make the most of my time so that the manager changes his mind," he explained.

"We knew we were coming to qualify. We would like to immediately qualify for the next round.

Barcelona will return home and prepare for a La Liga match against Valencia.
