Markets Start Higher on IT Buying, Positive Asian Market Trend
In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index, Shanghai’s SSE Stock Exchange Index, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were trading in positive territory.

On Tuesday (August 12, 2025), benchmark Market indicators and Nifty traded higher, supported by IT sector buying and strong cues from Asian markets.

In early trading, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 66.28 points to 80,670.36. The 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 42.85 points to 24,627.90.

Later, the BSE benchmark rose 205.95 points to 80,807.55, while the Nifty advanced 59 points to 24,643.20.

Tech Mahindra, Tata Specialist Advice, Mahindra & Mahindra, HCL
Tech, Larsen & Toubro, and Tata Steel were among the top gainers on the Sensex. 

However, Eternal, Bharat Electronics, Bajaj Finance, and ICICI Bank were among the slowest.

South Korea's Kospi, Japan's Nikkei 225 index, Shanghai's SSE Composite index, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng all closed higher.

The markets in the United States closed lower on Monday.

"Nifty bulls regained some impetus on Monday, closing 222 points higher at 24,585, while Bank Nifty closed at 55,511.  The market is now focusing on the critical 25,000 level as volatility is predicted ahead of US and Indian CPI data due on Tuesday, as well as the Trump-Putin summit on Friday.  Record mutual fund inflows in July, with SIP contributions at Rs 28,464 crore and total AUM topping ₹75.36 lakh crore, have boosted sentiment, according to Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities Ltd.
 
In July, equity-oriented mutual funds received a net inflow of ₹42,702 crore, the highest monthly tally for the segment. This was driven by contributions from thematic and flexi-cap funds, notwithstanding market volatility due to the tariff war with the US. 
SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) inflows increased to ₹28,464 crore in July, up from ₹27,269 crore in June, according to Amfi data issued on Monday.
Brent crude, the global oil standard, rose 0.33% to $66.85 per barrel. 

On Monday (August 11, 2025), foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold securities worth ₹1,202.65 crore, according to market data.

On Monday (August 11, 2025), the Sensex rose 746.29 points, or 0.93%, to 80,604.08.  The Nifty rose by 221.75 points, or 0.91%, to 24,585.05.
