RSS Will Decide PM Modi's Successor, Claims Sanjay Raut; Fadnavis Responds

Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, asserted on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's successor would be from Maharashtra and that "Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) would decide on that." In reaction, Fadnavis stated, "We will see him again in 2029."
"Modi's successor will be from Maharashtra, and the RSS will decide on that," Sanjay Raut told reporters at a news conference.
"He (Modi) probably went to RSS headquarters to write his retirement application in September," Raut said, alluding to the habit of leaders retiring at 75. PM Modi made these statements after visiting the RSS headquarters in Nagpur on Sunday.
In Nagpur, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded to Raut's claims, stating, "In 2029, we will see Modi as the prime minister again."
"There's no need to look for his successor. Fadnavis continued, "He (Modi) is our leader and will remain so."
"In our culture, discussing succession while the father is still alive is improper. This is Mughal culture. "The time has not come to discuss it," he said in response to Raut's suggestion that PM Modi's successor would be from Maharashtra.
The prime minister paid respect to RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar at Smruti Mandir in Reshimbagh the day before.
RSS President Mohan Bhagwat, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Maharashtra President Minister Devendra Fadnavis joined him.
PM Modi later posted on X, saying, "Visiting Smruti Mandir in Nagpur is a really special experience. The fact that today's visit occurred on Varsha Pratipada, which is also Param Pujya Doctor Sahab's Jayanti, adds to its significance.
